Aqla street food medio-orientale

I have been living in Rome for almost a year now and I can confirm that this is my favorite place in the whole city. The variety of food allows for anybody with a small to large appetite to indulge in the wonders that Nada and Samantha dish up. From their sandwiches to their soups, everything is bite is packed with flavor. My favorite is the sandwich known as the Aya. As seen in the picture, no crumbs were left. It has been my go to and even though the rest of their menu is phenomenal (I have had the pleasure to try the majority of it), this easily takes the spotlight. However, one of the things I have failed to mention, is that the reason the food is met with such high praise is because it is a direct reflection of the way they (the staff) see the relationship of themselves with food. They pride themselves on quality and subsequently their food is the highest standard of it. This is furthered by the environment they put you in as Nada and Samantha make you feel welcome and at home when eating here. It is an incomparable experience and I would highly recommend eating here!

When I studied abroad in Rome in the spring, Aqla was my absolute life saver, especially whenever I wanted something non-Italian. Nada treated us like family every time we went in, and the flavors in every single dish were so fragrant. Personally, I love the Huda sandwich the most. It has the perfect amount of spicyness and spice, with the sweetness of fruit in the rice. Will be going straight back to Aqla anytime I go to Rome!

We went here to get kebab, but they don’t make it. Instead they make the best damn burgers ever using middle-eastern spices. There are spicy and non-spicy options. The burgers are juicy and good portions. Me and my boyfriend fell in love with this place and hopefully we will come back here (although we live quite far from here, it’s so worth it!). The service was amazing as well. Thank you so much, Nada, for such hospitality and explanations! We felt very good here. Perfect comfort food as well as new cuisine experience. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We love Aqla so much and come here often. Nada is such a sweet, charismatic person and we adore her! Her mom is an amazing chef and the home-cooked-feeling food is incredible. We always feel lucky when we get a table (go early!) and the food is delicious - our favorites are the lentils and rice and the Aya sandwich - and the soup when it's available is divine. Everything these is made with love and care, and even though they are quick and informal, the food is just wholesome and fresh and made with love. Highly recommended and grateful that it is in our neighborhood in Rome!

Aqla is the place where I go when I want to feel like home. The food is carefully prepared to the tiniest level: the delicious roscioli bread, the lightly spiced food, the carefully cooked chicken and meat, etc. This is perfected by the lovely host Nada who is constantly smiling, super friendly and kind and most importantly passionate. The quality is excellent and the prices are fair and correct. Thank you Nada and team for making me always happy whenever i am dining at Aqla!
